Architect AI is a Revit add-in and a desktop application. It reads your model, proposes work, and waits for you to approve it.
Before anything else, Architect AI builds a picture of what is actually in the model — spaces, levels, openings, how the walls meet. A request starts from the building rather than from an empty prompt, which is why "dimension this plan" means something.
Nothing is written to your model until you say so. Every change arrives as a proposal you can read, with what it will do and why, and you approve or refuse it. There is no mode in which it edits your drawings on its own.
The add-in runs inside Revit and the desktop application sits beside it. You stay in the model you were already in; nothing is uploaded to be worked on somewhere else and handed back.
Worth saying plainly, because the category is full of claims that do not survive contact with a real project.
It documents, checks and models what you have decided. The design is yours, and the decisions that matter are not ones it is trying to take.
Revit remains the model. Architect AI does not keep its own copy of your building or ask you to work in a parallel environment.
Every change to your model is approved by you first. If that gets in the way, that is a cost worth paying for drawings you can put your name on.
Revit 2025 or 2027 on Windows, and an Architect AI account. The models are reached through your subscription, so there are no provider API keys to obtain or store on your machine.
It needs a connection to work. If it drops mid-task the work pauses and resumes rather than being lost.
